Interreg Volunteer Youth at EYE2023 to inform young people about cooperation

Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY)’s participants Ancor Armas Martin, Julie Gondouin, Silvia Guastella and Julia Salabaraas and AEBR’s team will be at the European Parliament’s event targeting young people, the EYE2023, to inform about cooperation policy and opportunities to get involved in it.

This week, thousands of young people from all over the European Union and the world will meet in Strasbourg at the European Parliament for its event EYE (European Youth Event). 16 to 30 year olds will interact and exchange their views with experts, activists, influencers and decision-makers to share and shape their ideas on Europe’s future. For the first time, this year European Territorial Cooperation is also on the agenda of the EYE.

Four participants of the IVY programme and the team of the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), which manages the IVY programme on behalf of the European Commission, will exchange with the audience to why it’s important for young people to engage for cooperation. Ancor Armas Martin, Julie Gondouin, Silvia Guastella and Julia Salabaraas will share their experiences as IVY volunteers and inspire others to contribute to Interreg and make cooperation more visible.

The sessions’ aim is to inform more young people about the possibilities they have to make a difference in cooperation, presenting two main initiatives of the European Commission:

  • the Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) programme which empowers young people to get involved in Interreg programmes and projects;
  • the Youth Manifesto which invited young people to step up youth participation in Regional Policy to make cooperation a matter of the future generations.

“We are extremely happy to be part of this very important event, bringing cooperation policy at the center of Europe’s future thanks to a new dialogue with young people”, says IVY project manager Cinzia Dellagiacoma.
