The 7th EUSAIR Forum highlighted the importance of youth’ participation in the EUSAIR Strategy.

The Albanian EUSAIR presidency considered ‘youth’ as one of its priorities in and dedicated to the topic several activities.
During the Adriatic Ionian Youth Organisations forum – AI NURECC in Tirana, youth engagement in the EUSAIR and other topics related to youth issues in the region, such as brain drain, were raised. The Adriatic Ionian Youth Organizations Forum is an initiative started in 2019 by the Adriatic Ionian Euro region, which was born to promote transnational and interregional cooperation in the Adriatic Ionian region.
During the conference, both the European Commission and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, have raised the issues of brain drain, digitalization and sustainable transition, highlighting the need of a more concrete communication with young people in EU and in the Western Balkans.
The discussion led also by young people, showcased interesting projects like: Interreg volunteering opportunities (IVY), AI-NURECC PLUS opportunities for EUSAIR youth and the Adriatic Ionian Youth Network adhesion campaign (AIYN).
The EUSAIR is expecting to set up soon a Youth Council following the example of the other macro regional strategies’ Youth Councils.
