EU journalism: aspiring journalists invited to apply for training programme

The Commission opens today the application period for the 6th edition of the Youth4Regions programme for journalism students and young journalists. Applications are accepted from EU Member States, neighbouring and accession countries.

The 38 winners of the competition will meet in Brussels during 08-14 October 2022 to follow trainings, receive mentorship from experienced journalists, work together with the latter in the pressroom and visit the EU institutions and media organizations.

The winners will also join the competition for the Megalizzi – Niedzielski prize for aspiring journalists, awarded on 11 October.

The application form and the conditions for participation are available on the programme’s webpage (www.youth4regions.eu) until 11 July 2022. The Commission will cover all costs for the participants. Youth4Regions is the European Commission programme helping journalism students and young journalists to discover what the EU is doing in their region.

Over 130 people from across Europe have passed through the programme since its start in 2017. A survey among former participants of the programme found that 78% considered that the programme benefitted their career through networking and professional advice. 93% considered that the programme helped them improve their understanding of the EU and cohesion policy.
