Join the mayors dialogue to face the green challenge in MED regions
@CLIMA project

Global warming is impacting Mediterranean territories, and the role of local and regional governments is crucial. An online dialogue among mayors from several Mediterranean regions will highlight strategies to deal with this challenge. Join it!

Mediterranean territories must prepare to adapt to the human and socio-economic consequences of climate change. Everyone is concerned - elected officials, economic players, citizens. In this context, the role of local and regional governments is crucial more than ever to put in place territorial policies to face the challenges: we are talking about the development of circular economy, the improvement of energy efficiency, the proper management of natural resources.

The Managing Authority of the ENI CBC MED Programme, in partnership with the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region - National Authority of the Programme for France - and the Euromed Cities Network, invites everybody to an online dialogue among elected officials from the Mediterranean on February 15, 2022 (10 a.m.- 1.15 p.m. CET). The event is organised in continuation of the Mediterranean Worlds Forum which takes place in Marseilles on 7 and 8 February at the initiative of the President of the French Republic.

The event – introduced by DG REGIO, European Commission - will bring together mayors from Algeria, Jordan, Tunisia and Italy, who will highlight their vision and strategy to deal with the many challenges associated with climate change.

In addition, several ENI CBC MED funded projects will contribute to the discussions by sharing their experiences and results, notably MEDISS (water management), CLIMA (waste management), OENOMED (sustainable winegrowing), RE-MED (circular economy in the construction sector) and SEACAP 4 SDG (energy efficiency).
