Few more days to apply to the 2nd edition - European Heritage Youth Ambassadors – a great opportunity for EU Macro Regional Strategies’ stakeholders

The European Heritage Youth Ambassador Programme calls for students and young people from all over Europe and beyond to share their stories and experiences in the heritage field, relevant for EU Macro Regional Strategies stakeholders working in both tourism and youth matters.

The European Heritage Youth Ambassadors programme aims to engage more young people in the field of heritage preservation. This is important, and even more so as 2022 is the European Year of Youth. Furthermore, common heritage can be the basis for a common future. As such, Macro-Regional Strategies and Interreg programmes could also benefit from cooperation with the European Heritage Youth Ambassadors, for example via the Interreg Volunteer Youth that promotes territorial cooperation among young people.

Each European Heritage Youth Ambassador will act as a bridge between students and young professionals and European heritage institutions like Europa Nostra, ESACH, and the European Heritage Tribune, for the realisation of many more youth-led initiatives.

European Heritage Youth Ambassadors are part of a growing heritage youth movement. They represent the voice of young people within Europa Nostra’s activities online and via the participation in in conferences and events. This allows them to engage in ESACH’s projects and activities, and to be a reporter for the European Heritage Tribune in their home country.

The programme will start in February 2022 and will run for 12 months. 11 European Heritage Youth Ambassadors from different countries will be selected. More information can be found on the ESACH website.
