This episode of our series ‘Stories from the Regions’ bring us to Andalucía. In the heart of the old quarter of Cádiz, AVRA (Housing and Rehabilitation Agency of Andalusia) has completely refurbished a residential building that was in a state of ruin.

This intervention renovated structures, masonry, installations, carpentry and introduced lifts and stairs, conserving the façade and the courtyard and adapting the building to current standards and criteria. It also provided 11 dwellings of 60 m² on average and a commercial space of 57 m². Furthermore, an old cistern that appeared during the work was integrated into the renewed building. This intervention was subsidised by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
