Stories from the regions: Increased transport sustainability in Iittala, Finland - Go Project

Following the train station renovation in the village of Iittala, Finland, there has been an increase in the number of commuters, and hence of use of sustainable transport.

This episode of our series ‘Stories from the Regions’ has Karoliina Härkälä and Laura Sahanen, both from Iittala, showing the renovated train station, now made much safer and more functional, thanks to the EU funding (ERDF). They also explain the benefits and advantages for the residents and the business community. Many members of the community cooperated in displaying several pieces of art enhancing the artisanal artistic aspect for both locals and visitors. Following the increase of the number of commuters, the national railway company added more train services to Iittala, making it better-connected for the benefit of all of us residents.
