[open call for architects]: "IDOL Centre" building in Blanca.

The municipality of Blanca in Murcia (Spain) is looking for architectural ideas that contribute to the renovation of its cultural and social landmark building, the Centro IDOL, to help make the building more beautiful, sustainable, and better adapt it to the needs of the community.

This competition is part of LIFEBauhausingEurope, a project aiming to transform 5 different European neighbourhoods in line with the principles of the New European Bauhaus, with funding from the LIFE Programme. 

A total prize of 5.000€ will be shared among the top three winning ideas. Deadline for applications is 2 September 2024, 23:59 (CEST).

[extended deadline]: Call for papers - Transformative Knowledge for Urban Sustainability Collection

The Collection aims to showcase integrated, systemic, and actionable research for sustainable urban transformation in line with the New European Bauhaus principles.

Organisers invite papers that:
(i) contribute to understanding intertwined environmental, social, and technical dynamics influencing the transformation of urban systems and
(ii) reflect on strategies to govern these interlinked transitions toward more sustainability, livability, as well as health and well-being for all. This includes research on integrative and innovative conceptual or strategic approaches, on policy and planning instruments as well as the work of change agents throughout all levels of governance and society.

Contributions can address one or multiple of the following key topics that are listed in the call.

The submission deadline for scientific contributions has been extended to 31 October 2024. More information about the call is available on this website
