The Ecosystems Academy is a cross-cutting resource centre that connects all the learning needs and knowledge resources of this programme. The Academy team will facilitate the internal and external learning exchange to identify and respond to the learning needs of different stakeholders and actors involved in the programme. The First Edition was held in Amman, May 9-11.

The Festival of Mediterranean Citizens is a 4-day international gathering with debates, interviews, workshops, literary readings, talk sessions, film screenings, exhibitions, live concerts, performances and guided visits, and took place in the city of Catania at the beginning of June.

On the 7th of June, the 3rd Steering Committee of the EU funded IMAP-MPA project took place via videoconference. The meeting was attended by representatives of Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, of the European Commission (DG NEAR, DG ENV and the EU Delegation to Egypt), of the UNEP/MAP Coordinating Unit and its partner SPA/RAC, as well as representatives of the UfM Secretariat.

The Conference on e-evidence and personal data protection was organised last week in Lyon, France, in close coordination with the French Ministry of Justice and under the French Presidency to the EU Council.

Project Sharaka has conducted a Regional Workshop on ‘Tackling Emerging Terrorism Trends in the Middle East and Africa’ in Cairo, Egypt, from the 23rd to 25th of May.

The Minister of Culture of Italy, in association with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, invites culture leaders of the European Union and of the Mediterranean to meet in Naples on the 16th and 17th of June, to join in a conversation on how to better protect, to enhance and to valorise the precious culture, heritage and landscape of the Euro-Mediterranean region.
