Public consultation launched on the future of transport

Ever since the invention of the wheel, transport and mobility have played a vital role in the everyday lives of people and businesses. European transport policy is designed to meet their needs while minimising impacts on climate change and ensuring Europe reaps the benefits of digitisation. How can the EU best achieve these multiple aims? We are working on a comprehensive Strategy for a Sustainable and Smart Mobility, and we also want to hear your views. Today, we launched a public consultation to allow both stakeholders and citizens to comment and identify their priorities. This will enable the Commission to better understand how the EU can help the sector become more sustainable and competitive, more modern and resilient to crises. The Strategy was announced as part of the European Green Deal, and is scheduled for release before the end of 2020.The consultation is available on the ‘Have your say’ portal, and will be open until 23 September.
