Commissioner Adina Vălean addresses the European Parliament
On Wednesday 29 January, Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean delivered a speech at the European Parliament’s plenary in Brussels. She outlined the new Commission’s plan for the future of transport and mobility. The von der Leyen Commission is currently working on a Strategy on Sustainable and Smart Mobility. It will encompass two major policy priorities: the European Green Deal and a Europe that is fit for the Digital Age. Key goals include emission reduction of 90% by 2050 in the transport sector, while making use of opportunities offered by digitalisation and automation.
