New calls, new projects coming!

Dear Readers, we are happy to announce the publication of the first calls for proposals of 2024! We will be back in January with more precise info about the info sessions that we will be organising to promote the new calls so stay tuned, enjoy the reading and start collecting interesting project ideas to submit next year!

Funding opportunities

New calls for proposals published under the CERV and Justice programmes!

Under the CERV programme, the CHILD call is back with a substantial increase of the budget and new interesting priorities such as children's mental health. Under the Justice programme, the big focus this year is on digitalisation of justice. This is just a little taste: discover the first 2024 calls already published (some of them are already open). You cannot miss these funding opportunities!

Spotlight on the call for proposals on the rights of the child and children’s participation (CERV-2024-CHILD)

The 2024 call on the rights of the child is open for applications until 26 March 2024 with a substantial increase of the budget (from 2 to 12 million EUR). Don't miss this opportunity!

Spotlight on the call for proposals to promote and protect Union values

The 2024 Union values call makes 74.5 million EUR available to support grass-root civil society organisations! With this substantial increase of the budget (from 51 to 74.5 million EUR), we hope to receive many interesting project proposals! Discover more about this call!

Looking for other funding opportunities linked to DG JUST policies?

Under the Single Market Programme, there is a new call for proposals for training judges in EU competition law. We are looking to co-finance projects which can increase the knowledge and know-how of national judges in the context of enforcing European competition rules. This includes public and private enforcement of both the Antitrust rules and the State aid rules. The call is already open (deadline to apply: 6 March 2024).

Activities, news & upcoming events

A thriving civic space for upholding fundamental rights in the EU: a framework for future action

A conference on this topic took place in Brussels on 16 November 2023, aiming to identify possible ways forward to protect, support and enable a thriving civic space in the EU. It was part of a broader consultation process that informed also our funding. Curious to know more?

Report available from the conference on "Judicial training: the right skills to embrace digitalisation of Justice"

The high-level EU conference took place in April this year and focused in depth on the digitalisation of justice, one of the priorities set by the European judicial training strategy 2021-2024. Now the report is ready, have a look!

Travel unit costs have been updated!

To try to compensate the extreme inflation in air travel since 2021, the rates for return air and rail travel above 400km have increased by 25%.

Beneficiaries: outputs, events & stories

Discover the project “Child Participation for Europe” (CP4E): best practice in the field of child participation

Co-funded by the REC programme, this project ran until June 2023. On its website you can find useful tools, such as: the Child Participation Assessment Tool and its child friendly version; an handbook on children’s participation for professionals working for and with children; a child-friendly campaign package and an online training course for professionals.
