EU Centre of Expertise for Victims of Terrorism

The Commission will launch an open call for tender for setting up an EU Centre of Expertise for Victims of Terrorism (two-year pilot project). The EU Centre will act as a hub of expertise and provide for concrete and practical actions with a positive impact on victims of terrorism. In particular, it will provide for guidelines and training activities on implementation of the EU rules and will set up lists of the relevant experts available at national level. Analysis of the application of the 2004 Compensation Directive and victims' access to compensation in Member States

Criminal Justice

The main objective of the contract is the analysis of the application of the 2004 Compensation Directive and victims' access to compensation in Member States. The Commission is already in possession of relevant data, which will be shared with the contractor with a view to analyse it and update it. In particular the Commission will provide the contractor with a study on victims compensation effectuated in 2013 and available relevant statistical data received from Member States.
