EUROMOD online session on ‘Creation of EUROMOD input data based on alternative data sources’

JRC will give a one-hour online session on the ‘Creation of EUROMOD input data based on alternative data sources’ on Thursday 27 October, 10:00-11:00 CEST.

This session will introduce users to the ways and methods that can be used to create EUROMOD input datasets based on alternative data sources, such as personal income tax returns, population registers, social insurance records and social transfers records. Those datasets typically contain information that is not available in EU-SILC, and can thus be useful complements to the standard SILC-based EUROMOD input datasets.

No need to register, just connect using this link.

EUROMOD-based analysis supports Eurostat’s ‘Flash estimates of income inequalities and poverty indicators for 2021’

Flash estimates of income inequalities and poverty indicators for 2021 were recently published. Prepared by staff of Eurostat, the report aims at providing up-to-date statistics on income poverty and inequality. These indicators are an essential tool for monitoring progress on the EU’s targets to address poverty and social exclusion and for key economic policy processes like the European Semester.

EUROMOD was used to simulate labour market transitions to unemployment and to short-term work schemes adopted in response to the pandemic, as well as the 2021 tax-benefit policies.
