New EUROMOD public release on 26 January!

New versions of the model, data and software will be released on 26th January 2022. Save the date!

New EUROMOD visual identity

As can be seen from the heading of this Newsletter, EUROMOD recently acquired a new visual identity. Its design attempts to combine pieces of the previous logo with a modern aesthetic, giving a sense of continuity with the past and a fresh eye to the future. It will be gradually integrated into EUROMOD’s documentation and website, according to the respective rules of the European Commission. It will also be added to the new version of the software that will accompany the model’s forthcoming public release. We hope you like it as much as we do!

New research section on the EUROMOD website

A brand new area devoted to research has just been added to the EUROMOD website, including two sections: Publications and Projects. In Publications you can find journal articles, working papers and reports that used EUROMOD in recent years. The Projects section aims to gather research and policy-related projects that use and/or develop EUROMOD. Projects and publications that refer to specific countries will be automatically linked in the Overview>Country by country section. We aim to keep these sections updated, but it's not always possible for us to find the relevant information. If there is a publication or project you don't find, please send us the details to JRC-EUROMOD@ec.europa.eu.

EUROMOD Annual Meeting 2021

The EUROMOD Annual Meeting took place on 4-5 October 2021. It emerged that the process of annual update goes according to plans, with EUROMOD beta releases made publicly available in May and September and the public release expected for January 2022.

EUROMOD Research Workshop 2021

The EUROMOD Research Workshop took place on 6 October, with six presentations focused on the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other news

Training courses 2021

During 2021, JRC organised two EUROMOD general trainings in April and October 2021. Both trainings took place online and were delivered through the EU Academy platform.

Uses of EUROMOD by the European Commission

In 2021 EUROMOD continued being an important instrument for the analysis of tax-benefit policies in the EU. Results from the model have served as key evidence for various legislative proposals and other policy work by the European Commission.
