Hugo del Valle-Inclán Cruces

Hugo has recently joined the EUROMOD team. He obtained his PhD from the University of Vigo in 2021, and has done research stays and visits at Johns Hopkins University and the Luxembourg Income Study. Before joining the JRC Hugo worked as slackline instructor, taught at a high school in Berlin, performed financial accounting at the City Council of Vilagarcía de Arousa, and was a researcher and teacher at the University of Vigo. His interests include distributive justice, inequality, poverty, data analysis, and coding.

Alberto Mazzon

Alberto has recently joined the EUROMOD team. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Siena. He also holds a MSc in Economics from the University of Siena and a BA in Economics and Management from the University of Padova. Before joining the JRC in 2021, Alberto worked as Consultant in the business analytics sector and as Data Scientist in a start-up company active in the PropTech sector. His research interests include microeconometrics, policy evaluation and labour economics.

Viginta Ivaškaitė-Tamošiūnė

Viginta recently left the EUROMOD team, after six years of work at the JRC. She was part of the original team that became the Fiscal Policy Analysis unit back in 2016, and together with other colleagues she pioneered the use of EUROMOD for the assessment of tax-benefit reforms in the context of the European Semester. She was also the EUROMOD developer for Lithuania and contributed to the creation of this newsletter. The EUROMOD team wishes her the best in her next adventures!
