The JRC laboratory for alternatives to animal testing is 30 years old this year. A lot has been accomplished since 1991, but the mission is not over yet. We take a look at the milestones, achievements and the road ahead.

The ALURES Statistical EU Database on the use of animals for scientific purposes provides data collected by the Member States and submitted to the European Commission annually. It offers free access to all interested in obtaining more information on animal use in the EU. The database is supported by a downloadable leaflet and a video.

The workshop aims to create an open cross-disciplinary environment to discuss how the combination of different models can contribute to the development of biomedical sciences.
