Welcome to our November Newsletter! In a whirlwind of developments, this month has unfolded with impactful news and engaging events. The Interoperable Europe Act reached another stage in the legislative process. The political agreement paves the way towards completing the Digital Single Market. Also in the spotlight this November is our BLSI Virtual Breakfast dedicated to The Digital-ready Checks across the EU”, which will take place on 30 November. During this session, we will present a new tool, currently in a testing phase, developed by the European Commission and discuss similar instrument leveraged in Germany. Moreover, do not miss the chance to have a chat with us at the exhibition during the Open Source Observatory (OSOR) conference on the 21 November. This event will bring together the extensive OSOR community to commemorate 15 years of open source progress in the EU public sector. 

Other November’s events that may pique your interest are just around the corner. The NGI FORUM 2023 on Unlocking the power of Digital Commons will occur on 15 & 16 November with a hybrid event, both online and in Brussels. Furthermore, on 20 & 21 November, the CRCL23 conference by COHUBICOL, titled "Computational ‘law’ on the Edge," will adopt a hybrid approach, combining physical presence in Brussels with online participation. This innovative event aims to explore the dynamic convergence of technology and law. On 21 November, the Webinar Dedicated to Technical Issues Related to DCAT-AP will make its appearance. Interoperable Europe Act

The European Council and the European Parliament have reached a common position on the Interoperable Act. This means the Interoperable Europe Act proposal can be finally transformed into EU law by both institutions. Read more about the topic here.

CRCL23: Computational “Law” on Edge - COHUBICOL

On the 20th and 21st of November 2023 for the CRCL23 conference organized by the COHUBICOL project - Counting as a Human Being in the Era of Computational Law. This event aims to unite leading scholars in the computational 'law' domain.

Experience an engaging dialogue at the intersection of technology and law, focusing on the intriguing contrast between data-driven 'law' and code-driven 'law'. This promises to be a vibrant exploration!

Open-Source Conference

21 November

You do not want to miss this! The European Commission's Open Source Observatory (OSOR) is set to host a landmark event in Brussels, on 21 November. Titled 'OSOR turns 15: Celebrating 15 Years of Open Technologies in EU Public Services,' this conference will unite the vibrant OSOR community, celebrating a decade and a half of open source advancements within the EU public sector. The Digital-ready Policymaking Team will be also present at the event’s exhibition, so do not miss the chance to have a chat with us!

Webinar Dedicated to Technical Issues Related to DCAT-AP

21 November

On November 21, 2023, Brussels will be gearing up for an extraordinary event, the Webinar dedicated to technical issues related to the DCAT Application Profile for data portals in Europe (DCAT-AP). In this upcoming session, the technical aspects of DCAT-AP will be explored, shaped by the insights gathered following the release of DCAT-AP 3.0.0 and DCAT-AP for High-Value Datasets.
