Shape with us our approach to digital-ready policies!

We are currently developing our approach to digital-ready policymaking, which will feed into the ongoing revision of the European Commission's Better Regulation Agenda. We want to find a clear definition and high-level recommendations that are easy to understand for policymakers.

We want your feedback! Check out our digital-ready policymaking page and provide your feedback or any relevant input directly in comment.

Did you hear about LEOS (Legislation Editing Open Software)?

Are you dealing with the edition or publication of legal texts? Are you looking for an easy-to-use editing tool that provides guidance and quality control for writers?

Then check out LEOS - Legislation Editing Open Software, an open source software delivered under ISA² Action 2016.38 Legislation Interoperability Tools – LegIT.

Drafting new legislation is a complex and time-consuming process involving many actors. This process, with increasing pan-European dimensions, can be made easier with LEOS, a free tool that facilitates the editing/reviewing of legislative texts and generates legislation produced in a format supporting interoperability between European institutions and between Member States. LEOS enables users to create and draft legislative acts via a web user interface, where the document content is stored in an XML format.

For a short introduction to LEOS, you can check our “Getting started” information package.

For more technical details, you can check out the latest LEOS release here.

Last but not least, if you want to hear the feedback of some of the LEOS users, you can check the following reuse stories:

[Reminder] Participate in defining the future of the EU's interoperability policy!

The European Commission is now evaluating the ISA² programme and the European Interoperability Framework (EIF) to present a reinforced public sector interoperability policy in 2021.

We are closely involved in the policy revision and during the first consulation activities, some stakeholders have already highlighted the role of digital-readyness of policies to foster interoperability.

What do you think should be the role of "digital-ready policymaking" in a future EU interoperabilty policy?

Read more about it here and take part in the public consultation to help us shape the future policy before 26 April 2021!

"Better legislation for smoother implementation" is an action under the Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations, Businesses and Citizens (ISA2 Programme) of the European Commission. Check out our legal interoperability activities, join our community or send us your ideas.
