DCAT-AP bug fix release is approaching

Dear members of the DCAT-AP working group,

We are happy to inform you that a DCAT-AP bug fix release is approaching. It is scheduled for the 29th of June 2020. We would like to thank you for the input you provided so far, and we invite you to review the release documentation and provide your remarks. The addressed issues are listed here and respective bug-fix release can be found here. You can submit your remarks on the dedicated channel DCAT-AP repository on GitHub by the 22nd of June 2020.

We take this occasion to invite you to a webinar that the SEMIC Team is organising on the topic of SHACL shapes in the DCAT-AP context. In the past months we noticed an increasingly growing interest from the community around this topic, and we have set up an agenda that touches upon the most relevant aspects of the SHACL shapes in this environment.

The proposed agenda focuses on several SHACL aspects and potential issues in the DCAT-AP context:

  • the organisation of the SHACL templates (files, per constraint, message texts, etc.);
  • the usage of the SHACL shapes for validation (which background knowledge to include);
  • handling implementation-specific requirements (addressing differences between the European Data Portal implementation and the DCAT-AP specifications); and
  • rules about how to express the constraints in the DCAT-AP specifications in SHACL.

The webinar will take place on the 24th of June at 10:00 (CET Time) and registration is already open. We would be glad to have you joining our webinar, so please register at this link.

If in the meantime you would already like to have a say on any of these topics, please leave your remarks directly in the GitHub issue list for DCAT-AP here.

Thank you!

The SEMIC Team
