Dear Readers,

Welcome to the special edition of the Joinup newsletter dedicated to the Sharing & Reuse Awards 2019. This contest for European public administrations, organised by the European Commission’s ISA2 Programme, will honour exceptional work in the development of IT solutions. We will welcome open source software or shared IT services that are innovative, have impact on citizens or businesses, and have already been reused. The winner will get €15,000 and the runner-up €10,000 in each category.

This is the second edition of the contest. Two years ago, we received 118 applications, and we were very happy to see that the winners invested the prize money in their open source communities or in enhancing services.  In this newsletter, you can read about some of the winners’ experience and learn why participating in the contest is worthwhile. Don’t miss the chance - submit your entry by 28 February!

You will find all the info about the contest on Joinup. The platform is supporting the Awards and all participating solutions will be published on Joinup pages.

Interview with winners of S&R Awards 2017

As the 28 February deadline for submitting entries for the second edition of the Sharing & Reuse Awards approaches, representatives of 3 winning solutions - iMIO, Oskari and MAGDA platform - share their experience of the 2017 competition. They talk about how it benefited their projects and offer some top tips for future participants.
