Drupal 9 End of Life and Transition to Drupal 10

From November 1 2023, Drupal 9 reached its end of life (EOL) status. This signifies that the Drupal community will cease providing official support or security updates for Drupal 9. Drupal 9 relies on several other software projects, including Symfony, CKEditor, and Twig. With Symfony 4's end of life, CKEditor 4's end of life, and Twig 2's end of life all coming up soon.

To ensure the continued stability and security of your website, it is imperative that the upgrade to Drupal 10 be performed as soon as possible, no later than 30 November 2023.

In light of this, please take in consideration the following internal dates:

  • 01 November 2023 - EOL Drupal 9 by Drupal Community
  • 16 November 2023 - Restrictions to use Drupal 9 in DIGIT Drupal Hosting, authorisation from DIGIT official required to deploy
  • 26 November 2023 - End of support for PHP 8.0 in the corporate CI
  • 30 November 2023 - End of support for Drupal 9 in the corporate CICD, no deployment possible
  • 30 November 2023 - EOL Toolkit 9.x
