Dear reader,

Since the end of 2022, Andrea Halmos is the new Deputy Head of Unit of the Interoperability Unit of DG Informatics. In an extended interview, Halmos opens up about her long-standing passion for digital transformation and her anticipation for the Interoperable Europe Act. The interview provides an excellent insight into the motivations of one of the most prominent members of the Interoperable Europe unit.

Other views on the Commission proposal for an Interoperable Europe Act can be found in the newsletter as well. DIGIT Director-General Veronica Gaffey gave her take on the Act during the opening of the ENDORSE 2023 conference. Furthermore, OSOR-representative Ciarán O'Riordan gave an ideal crash course on the Act in a video that was recorded at FOSDEM 2023.

But the roads to a more Interoperable Europe are manifold. This is why the SEMIC Roadshow initiative visited Bucharest (Romania) to discuss good practices and concrete action points. And, among many other events, a User Group Meeting about Joinup on the 30th of March will highlight how the platform with reusable solutions, specifications and tools for the public sector will be improved in the future.

Enjoy exploring these and other interesting features!
