Commission rewards most innovative SME benefiting from support of the Enterprise Europe Network

Active in over 60 countries, The Enterprise Europe Network supports Small and Medium-sized Enterprises looking to operate internationally. Co-funded by the Commission’s COSME and Horizon 2020 programmes, the network brings together 3,000 experts and 600 member organisations.

Yesterday, the Commission's Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) awarded the first-ever prize for the most innovative SME to benefit from its business support services. The title of the most innovative SME went to Nova Innovation, a Scottish company producing the world’s first tidal energy turbines compatible with the current energy-grid and a market leader in the tidal energy sector.

The announcement of the title was made during the 2-day Enterprise Europe Network annual conference in Vienna, Austria which also marked the 10 year anniversary of the Network. In the last decade, Enterprise Europe Network has supported around 230,000 companies around Europe, helping businesses to innovate and grow. The network provides tailored services that help businesses find international partners, turn innovative ideas into market solutions or providing advice on financing sources, investment strategies or finding new international markets.
