The regional workshop of the EU Large Carnivore Platform on Coexistence between people and large carnivores:  was organised by the EU Platform and the Ávila platform on large carnivores in collaboration with the Asociación Raza Avileña and took place in Ávila, 10 December.

The aim of the workshop was to present actions agreed by the platform, targeted at reducing damages to livestock; raise awareness with local, regional, national and European decision-makers and stakeholders; and discuss next steps in their implementation. Humberto Delgado Rosa, Directorate General of DG ENV opened the workshop, expressing his support for stakeholders willing to engage in discussions on those with different views to work towards coexistence. Other speakers included Jorge Marquínez, Director General Biodiversity Division, Ministry of Ecological Transition, speakers from the European Commission and the Junta de Castilla y León as well as the platform members.
