|
On 15 March, the Member State Steering Committee of the Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform held its 4th meeting to discuss zero pollution at EU and national levels, focusing on lessons learnt, expectations for 2024, and key areas for action.

|
The new Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework adopts a target to reduce pollution risks and negative impacts by 2030, including excess nutrient loss to the environment, risks related to pesticides, hazardous chemicals and plastic pollution.

LIFE funding opportunities, with support for Zero Pollution
|
On 18 April, the European Commission launched the LIFE Programme’s 2023 Calls for project proposals, announcing €611 million for pollution reduction, ecodesign, circular economy, environmental protection, climate action, and clean energy transition.

Zero Pollution Stakeholder Workshop: “Reducing health inequalities through zero pollution”
|
On 14 and 15 June 2023, the Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform will host a workshop on reducing health inequalities through zero pollution, organised by the European Commission and European Environment Agency.
The aim of the workshop is to discuss the links between pollution, health, demography and inequalities, and to identify the most important environmental determinants, the data that are needed to strengthen the evidence base, and the further actions to create synergies.

|
Join the conference on 6-7 June for the latest on EU environmental policy, in particular on zero pollution. Throughout the week, schools, universities, business associations, NGOs and governments will organise partner events across Europe and beyond.
