We’re excited to announce that companies and stakeholder organisations in the built-environment sector can now apply for funding as part of the first LIFE Call for Proposals under the new LIFE programme (2021–2027)!

Why not submit a proposal under the LIFE sub-programme on ‘circular economy and quality of life’, which, among other topics, covers buildings?

In particular, the following project proposal themes contribute to the implementation of the New European Bauhaus initiative and will be given priority for LIFE support:

• Reducing the environmental impacts of new buildings;
• Maintaining or restoring biodiversity, for example, through demonstrating biodiversity friendly practices for the energy conservation in buildings, innovative architectural approaches for developing wildlife-friendly buildings, etc.;
• Developing circular districts involving the creation of circular value chains to boost urban economies whilst producing urban and territorial regeneration.

LIFE also prioritises Environment Governance projects supporting, for example:

• the European Green Deal through transforming the building and construction industry;
• the Circular Economy Action Plan through building and construction waste prevention and reduction.
