We are pleased to announce the publication of the February issue of the EU GPP News Alert.

In this issue you can read about the new Green Public Procurement Programme of the Basque Government (Spain). The Project Director for the Procurement of Lighting Innovation and Technology in Europe (PRO-LITE), Dr. Leon Smith also shares his views on how adopting new practices in procurement can lead to more sustainable results and product innovations.

Two good practice examples have also been included in this newsletter. The first one is about the procurement of energy efficient street lighting in the city of Rotterdam (The Netherlands). The second describes the approach of the city of Lens (France) in the procurement of catering services and organic food for school canteens.

You can also participate in the open consultations for the revision of the Clean Fleet Directive or the new EU GPP criteria on Food and Catering services.
