EU ETV Pilot Programme: three years of supporting innovation
|
|
The EU Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Pilot Programme became operational in 2013 under the Eco-Innovation Action Plan as a new tool to help innovative environmental technologies reach the market. The testing-phase ended in December 2016 and will be evaluated in 2017 with the aim of drawing conclusions on the best way forward.

New environmental technologies and products will play a key role in boosting European competitiveness and in enabling the EU to take on a leading role as the world transitions to clean energy. The European Commission has adopted a new package of measures to accelerate Europe’s transition to a competitive low-carbon economy. The ‘Clean Energy for All Europeans’ package includes new proposals to increase energy efficiency, boost renewable energy usage, reform the European energy market as well as puts forward a new working plan for eco-design.
