Dear Smart Cities Marketplace Community,
|
As Europe navigates the challenges of climate change and urbanisation, the Smart Cities Marketplace continues to provide technical assistance and guidance to European cities.
As one of 21 featured initiatives, the Smart Cities Marketplace participated in the Cities Mission Conference in Vilnius with a stand and offered workshops, expert advice, and matchmaking services.
The Smart Cities Marketplace will also participate in this year's EUSEW, co-organising a session on 10 June on "Affordable Housing in a Green Transition: Financing Solutions for Inclusive and Sustainable Living." Additionally, the Smart Cities Marketplace is organising a webinar on the project self reporting and what is needed by participating projects on 3 July.
In May, the Smart Cities Marketplace released an updated edition of its brochure, "Investing in a Sustainable and Green Urban Future", introducing new content and tools to accelerate the just and green transition of Europe’s towns and cities.
With heatwaves intensifying social inequalities, the Smart Cities Marketplace joined the Covenant of Mayors for their #CitiesRefresh Campaign. This campaign emphasises the role of local governments in refreshing urban spaces and protecting vulnerable communities from climate extremes.
