20 February Special Anniversary Edition

The Secretariat of the European Commission’s Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition recently marked its fifth anniversary. The last half-decade has brought with it many changes and developments. We are commemorating this milestone with a special edition of this newsletter. Read on to hear from various members of the EU’s coal+ community!

  • A policy paper examining the central components of just transition cooperation between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean has been published.
  • The European Climate Pact has launched a number of quick-start tools for citizen engagement. Stakeholders in coal+ regions are invited to run the suggested group activities, to include all citizens in their just transition journey.
