Welcome to the Rural Energy Community Advisory Hub's newsletter

The RECAH team have been continuing to work hard to accelerate the energy transition. Since our last correspondence, we have produced a fourth guidance document on the policy scenario supporting the development of rural energy projects in all EU Member States. We have also published two new rural energy community best practice reports.

We have now selected 25 rural energy communities to receive technical assistance from the 47 eligible applicants that responded to our call. Later in this newsletter, we look in detail at the communities that applied, including their locations, when they were established, the types of support requested and the energy technologies they intend to focus on.

We have also received a total of 133 applications to the call for experts from all EU Members States and are now linking eligible communities with the expert(s) most suitable to provide the requested technical assistance.

It is more important than ever to continue driving forward the renewable energy transition to mitigate the effects of climate change, as well as high and volatile wholesale energy prices on energy bills, provide energy security and access, and facilitate economic growth and development.

We would like to kindly ask you to forward this newsletter to any stakeholders that might be interested in:

  • providing their expertise to the technical assistance programme
  • accessing our guidance documents and best practice case studies
  • staying up to date with the initiative
  • sharing details of the initiative with their network.

They can sign up to receive our future newsletters here.

Kind regards,

The RECAH Team
