The Platform for coal regions in transition has just launched a suite of toolkits to assist practitioners in EU coal regions. The implementation of the European Green Deal lies at the heart of the Commission’s plan, so does the principle of solidarity. It provides for a fourfold increase of the budget of the Just Transition Fund, at EUR 40 billion, at the direct benefit of coal regions in transition. With a reinforced InvestEU programme, the second pillar of the Just Transition Mechanism will also increase its available support.
