The European Commission is organising an Information Day on 14 September in Brussels to present the 2017 funding opportunities under Horizon 2020's Societal Challenge "Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials". The morning information sessions will be followed by a brokerage & matchmaking session to help applicants find the right project partners. Please register in advance (first come, first served).

Innovation Deals: How to boost circular economy innovation
How can innovators bring circular economy solutions to the market? What are the regulatory challenges at EU, national and local level? The European Commission invites innovators to join a new pilot scheme – the Innovation Deals for a Circular Economy – to find answers to these questions. Apply by 15 September 2016.

28 new environment projects in preparation
The European Commission has started to prepare the grants for 28 new projects to be funded through Horizon 2020's Societal Challenge "Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials". In total, the new projects will receive an EU contribution of about € 119.5 million. The launch of the new projects is planned for December.

Apply for environment & climate action funding through the LIFE programme
More than €330 million in funding is available in 2016 under the EU's LIFE programme for the environment and climate action. The European Commission invites businesses, NGOs and public bodies to submit proposals for climate change adaption and mitigation, resource efficiency, biodiversity and governance & information projects by September 2016. Policy makers and stakeholders from academia, business and civil society will meet on 6 and 7 September in Bratislava to discuss pathways for a transition to a green economy at EU and national levels.
