Commission welcomes European Parliament adoption of key files in the Clean Energy package

On 13 November, the European Parliament completed its approval of four of the eight legislative proposals in the 2016 Clean Energy for All Europeans package, following the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive which came into force on 9 July. The package is a key element of the Juncker Commission's political priority of “a resilient Energy Union with a forward-looking climate change policy”.

Deep renovation of ‘El Garrofer’ school in Viladecans, Spain

The project enabled the upgrading of the building to meet the Pasivhaus standard and to create a nearly zero-energy building (NZEB). Energy use will be cut by more than 50 % from the situation before renovation, and the thermal comfort for children and teachers which was previously missing will now be provided.

EPC guarantees savings in sports and fitness centers in Dublin

Dublin City Council awarded Ireland’s first local authority Energy Performance Contract (EPC) project to Noel Lawler Green Energy Solutions. Working closely with the Dublin Energy Agency Codema, the project will save the council up to EUR 100 000 on its annual energy and maintenance costs.
