EU provides €177 million for new environment projects
|
The European Commission has awarded Horizon 2020 grants to 31 consortia for running projects on waste recycling, water innovation, earth observation and natural resources. The new projects involve more than 550 organisations in 48 different countries, including 25 EU Member States.

New climate adaptation projects launched with Horizon 2020 funding
|
The EU is investing more than €28 million in four new climate adaptation projects through the Horizon 2020 programme. The new projects will test and improve climate adaptation solutions, and develop solutions for protecting cultural heritage sites against natural hazards.

Next call for proposals of the LIFE programme to be launched in May
|
In 2016, there is more than €330 million available in funding through the EU's LIFE programme for the environment and climate action. The European Commission will launch a call for proposals in the second half of May, with deadlines in September 2016.

Blue Growth: New projects to understand and preserve the Atlantic marine ecosystem
|
Two new research projects receive Horizon 2020 funding for studying the functioning of North Atlantic ecosystems. The research will result in strategies for a more sustainable exploitation of the resources whilst preserving the marine ecosystems. The EU provides €19 million in funding.

|
As part of this year's EU Green Week, the Executive Agency for SMEs is organising a twitter chat on EU funding for the environment on 31 May 10:00-11:30 CET. Experts will answer questions on funding opportunities for businesses, academia, public authorities and NGOs through the LIFE programme, Horizon 2020's Societal Challenge 'Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials' and the SME Instrument.
