Billon and Monese make it to FinTech50 2018 Yearbook

The FinTech50 yearbook recognises companies to watch in the emerging sector of financial technologies ranking them by innovation rather than revenue. From the 1800 companies that were considered two SME Instrument-funded companies Billon and Monese make it to the list of 50 hottest fintech companies in Europe. Both companies use blockchain technology to fight financial exclusion.

EIC Innovators’ Summit key takeaways

Microalgae: the future is green innovation

Microalgae gives us - through photosynthesis - the oxygen we need to breathe. But they also have plenty of other benefits: they are a source of proteins, lipids, pigments, vitamins and carbohydrates with a wide range of product applications. European Innovaton Council pilot's SME Instrument-funded company, AlgaEnergy, is exploring microalgae’s wide potential.

EIC pilot takes 18 companies to China International Industry Fair 2018

Last week the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot brought 18 cutting-edge companies working on environmental technologies and renewable energy to China International Industry Fair 2018, in Shanghai, China. The companies were promoted as part of the SME Instrument's Overseas Trade fairs programme.
