INTRODUCTION
February 2023

Dear Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps national agencies,

We’re already into February and spring is just around the corner.

This is an exciting time of year for many mobility participants, who will either be leaving their mobility placements or going on one soon. OLS is there to help the new arrivals make the transition to a new culture easier, with both the language learning and the forums.

We are also including in this edition a short, 4-question survey to help us understand how you are using our toolbox, to see which other communication channels you use and how we can improve this service. Please complete it and give your feedback. You can access the survey on the EU Survey platform here.

It is a good idea to remind the new arrivals who will be joining the OLS community of the house rules – see the Tips section for more details.

Regards,

The OLS team

COMMUNITY MANAGERS & FORUMS

In the coming weeks, Members of the OLS community will have the chance to demonstrate their language skills and win an Interrail Global Pass to explore Europe by participating in the OLS Community Stories video contest. Watch this space for more details.

This is one of the ways we are using to make OLS interactive and more than just a package of language learning courses and formal teaching material. It is intended to encourage discussion among participants, to allow them to practice their skills, ask questions and learn more about the language that is an integral part of their mobility placement experience.

COMMUNICATION TOOLBOX

Help us keep mobility participants informed about new features and developments on the platform, by downloading February’s communications’ materials below (toolbox). Prepared by the OLS team, it contains posts and visuals to share on your social media networks, and an email to send to participants. Make use of both to reach as many participants as possible.

To download the toolbox with its communication materials, you must first login on the EU Academy and then enrol in this course.

TIPS

Please remind mobility participants that the OLS communities are there to allow them to share cultural experiences and support each other in learning a new language. Encourage them to ask questions, start discussions and participate in the forums! To ensure that everyone benefits from the forums, please let them know about the house rules

New arrivals to the EU Academy have access to a short course about creating an EU login and accessing the platform. Alternatively, there is a step-by-step guide. Community managers can also help with any questions, including technical issues.
