EU Code Week hackathons

In September and October, teams of 15-19 year old students will use their coding and entrepreneurial skills in EU Code Week hackathons in Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Romania and Slovenia. These hackathons are part of a journey that started in spring with online hackathons and mentoring and training during summer.

ICT specialists: the skills gap hinders growth in the EU countries

A recent Eurostat survey highlights the obstacles SMEs and larger companies experience in the recruitment of ICT specialists. More indicators and analysis on digital skills will be soon available in the new Digital Economy and Society Index report.

Coding Superstars is the Digital Skills Bootcamp designed by e-Skills Malta Foundation which will introduce the world of coding to kids. The Bootcamp consists of 10 free online sessions of coding courses and it is ideal for kids aged 7-11 years.

The Data Visualisation Online Course is offered through the EU Academy platform and focuses on skills building for employees within the public sector. The course focuses on understanding data visualisation (i.e. the graphical representation of information and data) and the main techniques, processes and approaches used in this field (maps, timelines, charts, graphs and others).

The Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition brings together Member States, companies, social partners, non-profit organisations and education providers, who take action to tackle the lack of digital skills in Europe.
