The award is part of the activities of the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project Procure2Innovate that is setting up a European network of national competence centres around Europe.
The Institute for Business Competitiveness and the Spanish national cybersecurity competence center (INCIBE) invite interested bidders to submit offers for their first pre-commercial procurement in the cybersecurity field. The aim is to develop tools that can discover and eliminate websites or domains where hidden illegal activities happen, not only on the regular Internet but also on the Deep Web. In 2014-16 the UK National Oceanography Centre implemented a pre-commercial procurement (PCP), also on behalf of the UK Natural Environment Research Council and the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. Oceanographic surveillance and research as well as military operations required cheaper, more energy efficient robotic vehicles that can operate autonomously for long distances and long durations on the surface of ocean waters. Today, the resulting solutions are used and sold widely to public and private sector customers for different application.
ENISA, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, publishes a Threat Landscape for 5G Networks, assessing the threats related to the fifth generation of mobile telecomunications networks (5G). This report complements the EU Member States report on EU-wide risk assessments on 5G security released in October 2019.
Seven new research and innovation projects for a total amount of EUR 100 million of EU funding have been selected by the Commission to set up large-scale 5G validation trials for a broad range of vertical sectors.
