CONNECT University Online Session on "Medical technology advances: nervous system-on-a-chip"

Progressive neurological disorders such as Parkinson disease poses detrimental debilitating effects to patients. The lack of valid preclinical models has been hampering medical progress for the last decades. During this CONNECT University event the participants will have the opportunity to discover the project CONNECT (Connecting neural networks: Nervous-system-on-Chip Technology) and its impact on neurodegenerative disorders, by exploring and consolidating a new technological direction as a viable future technology for the development of novel therapeutics and regenerative strategies.

Call for proposals on Alliances for Innovation 2021 is open

Alliances for Innovation aim to strengthen Europe’s innovation capacity by boosting innovation through cooperation and flow of knowledge among higher education, vocational education and training, and the broader socio-economic environment, including research. To boost innovation, the focus will be on digital skills, including in the Health sector.

The European mHealth Hub project, which is a collaborative project of the EU, the ITU and the WHO, organises a webinar on mHealth policies. Registration is free.

Further crucial step for the Digital Green Certificate: Member States agree on technical specifications

One month after the Commission's proposal for a Digital Green Certificate, Member States representatives in the eHealth Network agreed on guidelines describing the main technical specifications for the implementation of the system. This is a crucial step for the establishment of the necessary infrastructure at EU level. In parallel Member States are encouraged to deploy the needed technical solutions at national level.

Open Call for the IN-4-AHA Living lab testing scheme

The EU-funded IN-4-AHA project will enhance the uptake of digital innovations in active and healthy ageing. The objective of this open call is to facilitate the scalability of innovative solutions in active and healthy ageing across the EU.

Call for papers: Big Data eHealth applications

The upcoming Special Issue of the Applied Sciences journal issued a call for papers that will be focused on technologies and methodologies in the field of Big Data Analytics for eHealth, also considering their combined use with Internet of Thing (IoT) devices, Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods, and Cyber Security (CS) techniques for the definition of complex systems and architectures for the eHealth domain. A special regard will be paid to papers devoted to the analysis of COVID-19-related Big Data.

Coronavirus: Commission proposes a Digital Green Certificate

Today the European Commission is proposing to create a Digital Green Certificate to facilitate safe free movement inside the EU during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Digital Green Certificate will be a proof that a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19, received a negative test result or recovered from COVID-19. It will be available, free of charge, in digital or paper format.

Blueprint on Digital Transformation of Health and Care for the Ageing Society

The European “Blueprint on Digital Transformation of Health and Care for the Ageing Society ” reflects the common policy vision of European policy makers, civil society, professional organisations and industry on how innovation can transform health and care provision in our ageing society. As a shared policy vision, the Blueprint guides the efforts of the Action Groups and Reference Sites of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing.
