Digital skills, your future: Call for action

During the Web Summit 2019 in Lisbon, the European Commission launched a Call for action inviting companies, organisations, schools and institutions to recognise the need to bridge the digital skills gap in Europe.

Getting ready for EU Code Week 2019: new online course for teachers, an extended repository of handy materials and a revamped website

In 2019, EU Code Week will place a special focus on training teachers to increase their confidence to introduce coding and computational thinking into the classroom. To that end, the 2019 edition features a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), an updated database of materials and an improved website. These actions prepare, encourage, and empower the community ahead of EU Code Week which will take place between the 5th and the 20th of October 2019.

WiFi4EU New Call Date Announced

The date of the second call of the WiFi4EU voucher initiative has been announced for 04 April 2019 at 13:00 CEST. With a call budget of EUR 51 million, the Commission will distribute 3,400 vouchers across European municipalities on a first come, first served basis.

Few days left: apply for the European Broadband Awards by 6 September!

Are you involved in a project on very high-capacity networks, infrastructure or applications? Has your project been at least 65% completed? Would you like to see your project recognised at a European level? Then don't miss the chance to apply for the 2019 European Broadband Awards! Big or small, rural or urban, private or public, you might be the next winner in one of the five categories. The winners will be announced in December 2019 and showcased across Europe in European Commission and very high-capacity network events. Deadline for application is Friday, 6 September 2019.

The winners of WiFi4EU call announced!

The first 2,800 municipalities that have won a WiFi4EU voucher have been announced. Those municipalities, which did not win a voucher this time, can apply for the next calls. A second call will be launched in the beginning of 2019.
