'The EU and the refugee crisis' – first factsheet in new series back in stock in all EU languages

Following high demand from Representations and Europe Direct Information Centres in August and September, 'The EU and the refugee crisis' factsheet was temporarily out of stock in certain languages. It is now back in stock and available to order. The factsheet is the first in a new series of short, easy-to-read factsheets on the 10 Commission priorities. The second factsheet, entitled 'The EU and jobs, growth and investment', will be published soon – details to follow in the next Publications Update.

Mini-poster: Members of the European Commission 2017-2019 – updated

Which faces stand for the European Commission? This poster on an A4 sheet shows the portraits and portfolios of all Commissioners. It has now been updated to feature the new Commissioner for the Security Union, Sir Julian King.

Wallchart featuring a map of Europe

This is a new edition of the popular poster featuring a map of Europe and some basic facts about each EU country. The colourful flags make it an attractive product to display in public places, waiting rooms, schools, and so on. It is in A1 format and reads horizontally – i.e.84 cm wide and 59 cm tall.

Regional policy: competitive cities and regions creating jobs

Regional policy is a strategic investment policy targeting all EU regions and cities in order to boost their economic growth and improve people’s quality of life. It is also an expression of solidarity, focusing support on the less developed regions. This publication is an updated edition in the series "The EU explained". A digital single market in Europe

It is time to make Europe fit for the digital age. And this new brochure explains what it is all about. It is a new title in the series "The EU explained". Paper copies can be ordered by distribution partners in the same way as other titles in this series. It has 16 A4 pages full of infographics. 'EU explained' series of booklets

What are the aims and the results of major EU policies? The 'EU explained' series of booklets presents all existing EU policies to the general public. There are currently 32 titles available.

Travelling in Europe 2016-17

This is the newest edition of the most popular leaflet of all. It contains tangible information about how easy it is to travel in the European Union. The leaflet also contains a fold-out map of Europe.

How the EU works

Our classic, basic publication on the EU institutions. It contains an overview of the decision making process, and a chapter about each institution.

The EU in slides

"The EU in slides" is a selection of PowerPoint slides outlining the basics of what the European Union is, what it does, and how it works. They are a flexible aid for teachers and speakers giving presentations about the EU. They are open for editing - any of our multipliers can re-use the illustrations, graphs, or template. The content also shows a number of tangible advantages of the EU, as well as the more traditional subjects of EU history, treaties and institutions.

The full text of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights – a poster

This poster contains the complete text of all 54 articles of the Charter. It can be displayed in meeting rooms, libraries, etc.

Promotional flyer for 'Europe Direct'

Practical handout indicating the phone number, the website, and the e-mail address for contacting Europe Direct. Can easily be adapted to add the contact details of a local EDIC.

Guide to the European Citizens’ Initiative

YOU can set the agenda – since the creation of the European Citizens' Initiative four years ago, about six million EU citizens have already made use of their new rights. Over 20 initiatives have been prepared and more than five million signatures collected.

A booklet aimed at younger schoolchildren tells the story of Europe simply and clearly. It covers subjects ranging from nature and geography, to history and the EU more generally.

'Europa. A journal for young people' - educational booklet about the EU for 13-18 year olds

"Europe is somewhere else". This nonsensical yet provocative statement launches the first chapter of this brochure for young adolescents. We are of course in the middle of Europe and the brochure attempts to explain what that actually means. Who runs Europe? What impact does the European Union actually have on daily lives?
