A series of 5 short, animated videos about various aspects of energy have been released today by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy. They and are now available on the European Commission’s audio-visual portal and will be shared also on YouTube.
- What is energy?
- What is energy efficiency?
- What is renewable energy?
- What are the EU's energy sources?
- What could be the energy of the future?
Intended as teaching material for 12-15-year-olds, each animation is roughly 60 seconds long. The videos cover a broad introduction to energy, renewables, energy efficiency, different energy sources and energy of the future (which looks at the ITER project). Each film is in English, but is available with sub-titles in the 22 EU languages to make them suitable for teachers of English, science, geography or climate-related issues.
They will be added in due course to the European Commission’s Learning Corner, which provides teaching material for different age groups.
