Addressing marine waste: Odesa workshop for a cleaner Black Sea
|
The Ukrainian National Hub organised on 29 May the "Marine Waste Transformation" workshop. The event, supported by the Black Sea Assistance Mechanism (BSAM), brought together around 40 stakeholders from across Ukraine to address critical marine waste issues and the vulnerability of the Black Sea to marine litter.

Insights and opportunities for Black Sea Blue Economy funding!
|
On 8 May, the Common Maritime Agenda and the European Commission hosted "Navigating Funding Opportunities in the Black Sea Blue Economy". Following the public event, the Black Sea Assistance Mechanism held bilateral meetings with project representatives to discuss potential ideas for aligning blue economy priorities with available funding opportunities, setting the stage for enhanced collaboration in the region.

Highlights from European Maritime Day 2024 organised by the European Commission

At the European Maritime Day (EMD) 2024, held on 30-31 May in Svendborg, Denmark, the maritime community reunited to address challenges and seizing opportunities within the sustainable blue economy, including sessions on EU Sea Basin Strategies' roles and synergies among research, innovation, ocean literacy, and green energy transition initiatives.

Advancing Sustainable Aquaculture in the Black Sea Region
