Dates of the next LIFE calls announced

The LIFE calls for proposals 2024 are expected to be published on the Funding & Tender Opportunities portal on 18 April 2024.

CINEA will hold virtual information sessions from 23 to 26 April 2024 to guide potential applicants through the LIFE calls for proposals 2024. Check out the  LIFE YouTube channel  for previous recordings.

Advancing European road transport towards a greener future

Over 70 projects funded by the Horizon transport research programme took to the stage at the annual flagship event for Road Transport Research results (RTR) held in Brussels on 5-7 February 2024. The event provided a forum for projects to engage with policymakers and share their ideas, methodologies and results.

Publications

CO2 interactive stories: a new tool to discover EU-funded projects in the sector

CINEA has launched a new digital tool to illustrate the joint EU support to the industrial carbon management emerging market and the synergies between the programmes that the Agency manages. The tool allows viewers to interactively discover how the EU funding is distributed across the sector, what projects have received support and how these projects contribute to drive the European clean-tech innovation in the sector.

Join the first European Ocean Days in Brussels

Organised for the first time in 2024 by the European Commission, the European Ocean Days will be a full week focussed on maritime topics. From 4 to 8 March, the event will cover the EU Mission Ocean and Waters, future priorities for Europe’s Seas, blue innovation, as well as ocean literacy.

The European Covenant of Mayors turns 15!

On 10 February 2009, 370 mayors gathered to officially launch the Covenant of Mayors. Over these years, CINEA has strongly supported the initiative providing EU funds for developing projects working on the development of local energy and climate action plans, and aiming to translate the EU Green Deal into local action.

Making electric vehicle batteries without cobalt a reality

Spain has gained its first large-format cobalt-free lithium-ion battery for electric vehicles. Developed by the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research together with CIDETEC Energy Storage and 17 European partners, the battery prototype results from research conducted under the EU-funded COBRA project.
