European Hydrogen Bank “Auctions-as-a-Service” scheme kicks off

Germany is the first Member State to participate in the EU's new “Auctions-as-a-Service”. EUR 350 million is available from Germany's national budget for hydrogen production in the country, in addition to the EUR 800 million foreseen for European projects from the Innovation Fund.

EUR 3.45 billion allocated to innovative cleantech projects supporting the EU’s clean energy transition

The 37 selected large-scale cleantech projects will run in 14 European countries, including Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Greece and Ireland. They have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 200 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent during their first 10 years of operation.

Commission doubles support for Ukrainian cities in the EU Cities Mission

Two projects have been selected for a grant under the Horizon Europe call to associate Ukrainian cities to the EU’s Climate-neutral and Smart Cities Mission . The allocation of EUR 10 million to the two projects is double the original budget.

Turning industrial sites and parks into ecoregions

The R-ACES project, funded by Horizon 2020, has supported industrial parks and clusters to become ecoregions with reduced CO2 emissions, where multiple stakeholders engage in energy cooperation by exchanging surplus energy, information and materials, and by investing in renewable energy.
