EU-funded Alqueva Floating Solar Farm wins EUSEW Awards
|
Alqueva Floating Solar Farm was awarded the European Sustainable Energy Award 2023 in the Innovation category. The park, whose elastic mooring system was funded by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), brings together solar energy, hydropower and battery storage in an innovative scalable technology to reduce emissions and protect nature.

Innovation Fund: The EU invests EUR 3.6 billion in new clean tech projects
|
These 41 large-scale innovative clean tech projects have the potential to avoid 221 million tonnes of CO2 emissions in their first 10 years of operation. Located in 15 EU Member States and Norway, they cover a wide range of industries, such as cement, steel, advanced biofuels, sustainable aviation fuels, wind and solar energy, and renewable hydrogen and its derivatives.

CEF Energy: EUR 144.6 million of EU funding for CO2 capture infrastructure
|
On 26 June, CINEA hosted a ceremony to celebrate the symbolic handover of the grant agreement with the Antwerp@C CO2 Export Hub project, that will be co-funded under CEF Energy with EUR 144.6 million. The project aims to develop a world-scale open-access modular infrastructure for the transport, liquefaction, and export of CO2 captured by industries in the Antwerp port area.
