The European Commission will soon propose a climate target for 2040 and has launched a public consultation to ask citizens and stakeholders for their opinion. Make your voice heard until the 23 June 2023 by answering the survey.

CINEA took part in the European Maritime Day 2023 in Brest, France on 24 and 25 May to discuss funding opportunities for a sustainable blue economy and accelerating the energy transition. The event also allowed some remarkable EU-funded projects to highlight their contribution in the field.

The award winners were selected from hundreds of LIFE projects across the EU supporting the European Green Deal that ended during the last two years. They mark outstanding achievements in three categories: nature protection, environment and climate action.

The projects aim to bring low-carbon technologies to the market in energy-intensive industries, hydrogen, energy storage and renewable energy sectors. They will benefit from grants amounting to a total of around EUR 60 million, funded by revenues from the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS).

Taking place from 19 to 25 June, the show brings together all the players in the global aviation industry to showcase the latest technological innovations. CINEA will be at the European Commission stand and in some side events, along with projects working on green and energy efficient aviation technologies.

Join us on 4 and 5 July 2023 for a two-day event on how to submit a successful application, and learn from successful projects from previous small-scale calls. There will also be some orientation sessions with selected projects to present their project ideas. The event aims to help submit a successful application for the third small-scale call.

For sustainable blue economy to thrive, marine ecosystems need to be preserved and monitored. To celebrate the international #WorldOceansDay, CINEA published an infographic on Ocean Health and Observation projects funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), targeting the main challenges the ocean faces today.

On 9 June, the Baltic Synchronisation project held an event in Estonia to celebrate the completion of key steps towards the synchronisation of the Baltic States with the Continental European Network.

The Electron Beam technology and Ultra Violet (EB UV) project produced in February 2023 the very first pre-painted steel coil using Electron Beam technology. By replacing the gas-fired paint film curing ovens and solvent incinerator with the innovative technology EB, this Innovation Fund project contributes to the EU Green Deal objectives.
