LIFE Programme

Since 1992 the LIFE programme has helped around 5 500 projects flourish across the EU and in third countries. Here is a preview of the new-look EU fund for environment and climate action, which will run from now up until 2027.

The European Parliament has officially approved the deal with EU Member States on the new LIFE programme which will run from 2021 to 2027.

This 15th edition of the LIFE Awards recognises excellence in three categories: nature protection, environment and climate action. A jury will choose a winner in each of these categories, but your opinion is key: vote for your favourite project in the LIFE Citizen's prize category!

Last week we celebrated the European Natura 2000 Day and the LIFE programme’s birthday. To mark both occasions, LIFE held a ceremony in the heart of Brussel’s Sonian Forest – a Natura 2000 Special Area of Conservation.
